Happy Monday! How was your weekend? My weekend was rather low key with some happy hour fun and lots of football. I also managed to sneak in a swim, nearly complete my 2009 Christmas Album (yes, I'm a tad behind) and clean my bedroom and closet (Are you reading this Mom? I was a good girl...ha!).
One project I started to tackle, but soon became overwhelmed with, was reorganizing my digital photos. I previously used to use a folder system, but when I moved to a Mac a few years ago, switched to iPhoto. I've have never loved iPhoto, but have never found another solution. I'm considering moving back to a folder system, with the photos sorted by year and then stored in subfolders within the years. My question to you is, how do you store your photos? Do you use folders or do you use a program like iPhoto? Does anyone use Picasa to manage their folder system? I'm just curious and want to make sure any time and effort I invest in moving literally 10,000 photos is worth it. Please help!
On a completely random note, I have a couple of pages I've recently created, but never got around to sharing. What better time than the present, right? The first of the two layouts is titled Gordy's.
Gordy's Hi-Hat is a quaint little place in Cloquet, MN that's been around for 50 years. It is still run by the original owners and is open only 6 months of the year. Most recently, it was featured on Dinners, Drive-ins and Dives. When Nate and I saw the episode, we put it on a must do list for our Duluth trip since Cloquet is only 20 miles away. We planned on stopping on our drive from the Cities to Duluth, and due to some delays, didn't think we'd make it in time. But, we made it...with 30 minutes to spare! We ordered up the special, double cheeseburgers and fried cheese curds. It was a yummy meal and a place we will most certainly stop at again next year!
The page was created using Studio Calico, October Afternoon, Adirondack Color Wash and and unknown brand of foam letter stickers.
My next page is titled Splish Splash:
These photos of my niece and nephew were taken at the Fountain Hills Splash Park in August during a fun afternoon outing. Since this is a page of my niece and nephew, it's digi (so I can send it for my sis to print off for the kid's albums). The papers, stitches, scallop and star are all from Creativity by Crystal. The journaling spot and glitter spills are from Elle's Studio and iKari Designs respectively.
That's it for today! I hope everyone has a great Monday. Any advice you have on the digital photo organization question will be much appreciated! Thanks in advance :)
Ps. Check back in on Tuesday for the newest edition of I Made This!
