DT, GDT and the Giveaway Winner

Lots of things to cover today, so let's get to it! 

It's time again for yet another Sketchy Thursdays Challenge! Here's the new sketch:

Super cute, right? This time around, there is an opportunity to enter two challenges in one! Sketchy Thursdays has teamed up with Who's That Girl. If you use the sketch and incorporate the prompt "Right Now" (things your into, etc.) into the page, you can enter it at Sketchy Thursdays AND at Who's That Girl. Cool, right?

For me, this was easy. I've been obsessed with cameras lately (I'm sure some of you have noticed), and I've been super-obsessed with learning how to REALLY use my camera in manual mode. I prefer manual for a lot of things, but I just really don't know enough to satisfy my craving. So, here's the page I made:

Almost everything on the layout is from the awesome Kitschy Digitals Vintage Camera Kit. I printed all the digi files and cut them out to use as elements on the page. Here is a close up of the little camera in the corner:

To avoid the layout from being so matte from all the printed elements, I stamped the little camera with Versamark and embossed it with UTEE. It took two coats of the UTEE to make it nice, thick and shiny. It was easy to do and made a huge difference in the overall look of the page.

This month I'm also the GDT over at These are a Few of My Favorite Things! Thank you so much Julie (who is also a fellow Sketchy Thursdays DT member!) for this fun opportunity!! The challenge this week is to scrap your favorite city. I have a lot of favorite cities, so it was hard to choose one. I narrowed it down to San Diego. It's such an easy weekend getaway from AZ and always so relaxing for me to visit. It doesn't hurt that I have access to a yacht and spend most of my time floating on the water :) Here is my take on the challenge, a 6 x 12 page to go into the little album I created to hold all of my TAAFOMFT pages.

Sketchy Thursdays and a GIVEAWAY!!!!

This photo captures a very rare moment, Bugsy cuddling with someone. She is a VERY anti-cuddle kitty and usually heads for the hills when you try to sneak in a snuggle. Nate obviously had the moves going on that day and won her over. I used lots of Sassafras goodness (once again). I seem to be on a Sass kick as of lately, but really, how could I not be, right?!

A few little loose ends...

First up, if you haven’t noticed in the left sidebar, I’m now on Twitter! After some encouragement from my sister and Nate, I FINALLY jumped on board (I’m quite stubborn and was holding out as long as I could…LOL). I’m still very new to it and haven’t figured it out yet, but once I do, look out Twitter World the Unicorn has arrived!! So, if you’re on Twitter, please follow me! I’m sure all of you remember my friend Joanna of Baked by Joanna. Well, Joanna has been working hard to makeover her shop and add some adorable and delicious new goodies. Giveaway Winner and my Duluth Mini!!

I apologize for being so late at posting the winner of the Pink Passion giveaway! I'm very behind on my studies and have spent most of the evening studying the history of motion in flight simulation (I'm working towards a Master's of Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and am getting SOOOO close to being done!). But my brain needs a break! So here it is, the winner as selected with the help of Random Integer Generator...

Since I'm already behind (and still have a paper to write this evening), I know there is absolutely NO WAY I'm going to be able to get my What a Girl Loves post up in time. Sorry to disappoint two weeks in a row!

Instead, I'll share a little mini I created a few weekends back (I already had the post ready for this one...ha!). The album is simply titled Duluth and highlights the trip Nate and I took in August to visit his dad. I used TONS of October Afternoon Road Map papers and embellishments. And, for once, my binder rings might actually be too big for my album (when does that ever happen?!).

When you take a look at the cover, you will see why I just HAD to use the OA Road Trip line for this album...Duluth is on the paper!! How PERFECT is that?! I placed a little red rhinestone on the map dot for Duluth and pointed the arrow to it. It made for a simple, yet perfect cover for this mini! Here is the rest:

 

As you probably noticed, I still need to add some journaling (my least favorite part). I also need to figure out what to do with that last yellow page. I'm thinking maybe a collage of thumbnail photos that weren't included yet in the mini.
