As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I participated in the Bright Ideas class at Studio Calico. I’ve completed a few more class challenges, resulting in a few pages I really love. First up, is a challenge all about circles.
GIRLS ONLY | Most of the circle elements on the layout are from the Bright Ideas class printables and cut files, which were exclusive to the class. I also added in buttons, flair, epoxy circles and paint splatters. There is a ton of circle action going on here! Fun side note, this layout was included in the class gallery highlight video for week four!
The photo and layout are about a fun Saturday morning spent celebrating my friend Lisa's birthday. We arranged to "kidnap" her for the day. We started with a delicious breakfast at Matt's Big Breakfast, followed by thrift/vintage shopping at Sweet Salvage on 7th, Melrose Vintage, and another shop that I can't recall the name of. We ended the day with a stop at Urban Cookie for some cupcakes. Such an amazing day! LOVE these girls :)
MY CHAIR | The challenge for this layout was to use neutrals with a pop of color. As you can see, the layout is very neutral, with a pop of color in the patterned paper behind the photo and in the paint splatters. In retrospect, I think I could have gone a bit bolder with the color pop, but I still like the final outcome.
You may have noticed this photo in my January Project Life post. During a vet visit for a grooming, checkup and ear check, Shawna decided the guest chair was not for humans, but for dogs. As soon as we entered the room, up she went, along with Baby Tiger (her toy) and there they sat, while I stood alongside waiting for the vet. Needless to say, we got a few giggles as the vet and vet tech entered the room to find the human standing and the dog in the chair.
That's it for today, friends. I'll be back this weekend with Project Life February. See you then!
