I'm beginning to accumulate quite the backlog of summer photos. Between visitors, vacation and more visitors I have taken plenty of photos - but had far too little time to do anything with them. My mom is coming for a visit this weekend, which means more fun and adventures (and of course more photos!). But, I know I'm not alone in the catch up game - that's the life of a scrapper, right? :)
Looking for some inspiration to get a few photos and memories recorded, I decided to participate in the Sketchy Thursdays 9.8 Sketch Challenge this week. You can find the sketch here. The squares on the sketch were perfect for me to scrap a few Instagrams from our recent vacation.I flipped the sketch on its side and moved a few things around and, in the end, am really happy with the results! Take a peek:
PIKE LAKE | Pike Lake is a lovely lake in northern Minnesota where Nate's dad lives, along with his wife. As I mentioned, Nate and I spent 7 days visiting at the end of August. It was such a relaxing time. I love being on the water, or even just near the water. There is just something about it that puts me at peace. These are my favorite Instagrams from the trip - the Correct Craft, a sunset cocktail cruise on the pontoon boat, Nate and I enjoying 75-degree weather, and another sunset cocktail cruise.
While this is the first page you've seen from our trip, it certainly will not be the last! I finished sorting and editing the 500+ photos and am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my prints so I can get to work. I plan on making a mini-album (which will probably be not-so-mini in the end) using the new Amy Tangerine line from American Crafts. I purchase the line as soon as it was released (many weeks before our vacation), in anticipation of using for this trip. It's bound to be a fun album and I cannot wait to get started on it! Now if only my photos would arrive... :)
