Living the life of a perfectionist, it isn’t often that I am able experience a true feeling of accomplishment. Yes, sometimes I do accomplish things, however, I always look back and see how I could have done things differently. I seem to always find a flaw or something I would change. I know a few of you out there understand where I'm coming from!
Sometimes it’s tough to let it all go, and just accept that feeling of accomplishment when good things happen. But, that is exactly what I’m doing at the moment :)
THE HAPPY LITTLE THINGS
Over the past year or so, I’ve been fortunate enough to have my shop and scrapbook pages featured numerous places online. Each time I come across my work somewhere, I get a little giddy. Just yesterday, my Warm Hugs Embellishment kit was featured in an Etsy Treasury and my Just Ducky layout was featured at Digi Lovely (a pretty good crafty day if you ask me!). Fun little surprises like these can sure brighten up a day!
THE EXCITING BIG THINGS
Adding to my sense of accomplishment, I have not one, but two projects that are being PUBLISHED in upcoming magazines!
Back in November, I was notified that my Recycled Magazine Frame had been accepted for publication by Northridge Media.
You will be able to see the frame in the April/May Simply Handmade Magazine as part of the “Going Green” feature. I’m beyond excited because this is the first project I ever submitted to any magazine call and (obviously) the first one to be selected for publication!
Riding on the high from the magazine publication, I got courageous enough to submit a mini-album to a recent Creating Keepsakes call. Just a few days later, I received an email that it had been selected to be part of the CK Scrapbook Tips & Tricks: Summer Fun & Travel issue. Needless to say, I’m beyond excited! The issue is due out sometime this summer, although I’m not quite sure of the exact date.
Little Things + Big Things = Feeling Accomplishment. I like it :)
