But that's exactly what I'm doing today. Today marks the end of my tenure as a Sketchy Thursdays Design Team Member *insert whimpering here*. After some thought and consideration, I decided not to reapply for the chance at a second term due to my school commitments (gotta finish up this Master's Degree!). It's been a blast and I'll miss working with the other DT girls each week and having the opportunity to play with the sketches a little earlier than everyone else! Thank you so much Diana and Heidi for choosing me to be part of the Sketchy Thursdays family. I enjoyed every second of it!
But enough of the sappy stuff! Let's get to the good stuff. Here is this week's sketch:
Here is my take on the sketch:
V’Sattui • 12 x 12: Patterned Paper (Crate Paper Restoration Collection– Slipcover, Fringe) + Letter Stickers (American Crafts) + Buttons (Unknown) + Adhesives (Foam dots – Scrapbook Adhesives; Glue dots – Zots; Tape Runner – Tombo) + Chalk Ink (ColorBox)
The photos were taken at V'Sattui Winery in St. Helena, CA. I love this winery and I love their wines. It is a must stop on each trip I make to Napa. They have lovely grounds, picnic areas and, of course, yummy vino! We took advantage of all three with a tour, a cheese and cracker picnic and wine tasting (and subsequent purchasing of wine!).
One thing I must say is I really, really adore Crate Paper's Restoration Collection. The colors and patterns are to die for! The are so pretty in fact, that I couldn't seem to part with my remaining scraps, so I started cutting and moving them around on a piece of white cardstock. After some flipping, turning, misting, painting, gluing and sewing I came up with this:
King of my Heart • 12 x 12: Patterned Paper (Crate Paper Restoration Collection) + Cardstock (Bazzil) + Letter Stickers (American Crafts Thickers; Heidi Swapp) + Adhesives (Tape Runner & Multi Liquid Glue – Tombo) + Chalk Ink (ColorBox) + Spray Ink (Adirondack Color Wash - Yellow; Tattered Angels - Strawberry Shortcake) + Paint (Making Memories) + Punch (Unknown)This little dandy is probably one of my favorite pages of recent time. I love the colors, the messy paint and mist, the scattered hearts...well, pretty much everything about it. I even love the cute title I came up with. I feel that my titles are not my strong point, so I was overjoyed to come up with something cute and witty! It was one of those pages that was started with no plan in mind and took on a life of it's own. And the end results? Well, I think you already know that I love it!
I know it's a little early, but I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
