Today, in our overly commercialized society, it seems that more often that not, the true meaning of many holidays is forgotten. I hope that each of you takes a moment today to reflect on the meaning of Memorial Day, and give thanks to those who have served our country and given the ultimate sacrifice in order to protect our nation and preserve our freedoms. We are some of the luckiest people on earth, living in the greatest nation. Please take a moment to reflect upon that. Then, make it a point to celebrate and honor those who have served and be thankful for all they have given us.
Here are a few photos I took last fall of the 285th AVN UH-60 as they deployed from their base at Papago Military Reserve, bound for Iraq. Please keep them (and all of our soldiers currently serving) in your prayers and hope for their safe return.
I personally, cannot even begin to express my gratitude for those who have served, and are currently serving in our armed forces. I can only offer a very humble, Thank You. Happy Memorial Day.
